Meet Dr. Shelbi Jim On
Dr. Shelbi Jim On is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has extensive knowledge in medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology with special interests in skin cancer screening and prevention, psoriasis, eczema, acne, warts and aesthetic procedures. Dr. Jim On is committed to providing the highest quality of care to her patients and tries to make each patient’s experience at the clinic as comfortable as possible. She is dedicated to patient education and explores many options to uniquely customize treatment methods for each patient.
Dr. Jim On was born and raised in Honolulu. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Claremont McKenna College before earning her medical degree at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School Of Medicine (JABSOM). Dr. Jim On completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She then completed a dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City where she was selected to be chief resident in her final year of training. She completed an additional fellowship in dermatopharmacology with world renowned dermatologist Dr. Mark Lebwohl at Mount Sinai. Dr. Jim On is a member of several distinguished medical societies, including the Chinese American Medical Society, New York Academy of Medicine, New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women's Dermatologic Society. She was a recipient of the Resident of Distinction Award in 2015 and 2016.
Prior to returning to Honolulu, she served as a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai where she provided didactic and clinical training for the dermatology residents. She also worked in private and academic practices in New York City.
As a dermatologist, Dr. Jim On feels fortunate to return home, dedicated to serving the people of Hawaii.
